About the speaker:
Savannah Kunovsky is the Managing Director of Emerging Technology at IDEO, where she leads the Future Consumer Technology lab — exploring AI/ML, XR, robotics, and the next generation of the internet.
She collaborates with global companies like Google, Microsoft, and Sony, helping to create breakthrough products, services, and strategies that shape the experiences of billions of users.
Before joining IDEO, Savannah worked on emotional AI in the mental health space with Dr. John Gottman, co-founded Moringa School, a technical education platform in Africa, and began her career as a software engineer.
Savannah regularly speaks at international events — including SXSW, QCon, MIT Media Lab, and COP28 — where she explores the role of design and artificial intelligence in addressing climate and social challenges. She also moderates public conversations on AI, ethics, prototyping, and new ways humans interact with technology.
In her work, Savannah actively explores how to make AI more transparent, accessible, and human-centered — sharing open tools, approaches to community care, and meaningful systems design.
IDEO is a global design and innovation consultancy best known for pioneering the design thinking approach. Founded in 1991 (with roots dating back to 1978), IDEO popularized human-centered design — a process grounded in empathy, rapid prototyping, and iterative learning.
The IDEO team brings together designers, engineers, anthropologists, psychologists, business strategists, and researchers to work across diverse fields — from healthcare, education, and climate to culture, finance, and technology.
